水調歌頭民宿是一棟清朝乾隆年間的金門傳統閩南式建築，由金門國家公園修復，顏湘芬回鄉於2005年經營至今，以自身從事旅遊業的經驗，從旅客的需求角度出發，呈現古宅的智慧空間與歷史文化，並將其書寫成書，藉由無聲的佈置安頓旅者的身心，讓旅者體驗金門古厝風華，鼓勵走讀聚落，寫在房間的留言本，有著許多的小故事，這些留言鼓勵著我們，繼續為古厝、為家鄉推廣古厝風華。
水調歌頭是蘇東坡的詞牌名，大家很熟悉的「但願人長久、千里共嬋娟」，很符合古厝的風情，也祝福旅者走過千里，順著同一個月亮，能有美滿幸福的人生。

古厝是一棟雙落雙護龍的傳統閩南式建築，前落有兩間房間，取名為明月、嬋娟，後落有兩間閣樓房，取名為朱閣、瓊樓，左護龍有兩間有小客廳的房間，取名為乘風、起舞，每間都是套房，有乾濕分離衛浴，整棟民宿明亮而有著現代化的設備，有小廚房(咖啡機、飲水機、茶包、金門茶點、冰箱有高粱酒)、小書房(古厝閱讀是很棒的享受)，古厝已經兩百多年，紅磚白石的構造冬暖夏涼，希望這一列古厝的列車，能繼續寫下歷史風華，讓我們繼續守護，希望能與大家相遇在美麗的故鄉--金門

Shuidiao Getou — Stay in a Piece of Kinmen’s Living History

Shuidiao Getou Homestay is a traditional Kinmen Minnan-style house dating back to the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty. Restored by Kinmen National Park, this historic residence has been lovingly operated by Hsiang-Fen Yen since she returned to her hometown in 2005.

Drawing on her many years of experience in the travel industry, she has approached the restoration and hospitality of the house from a traveler’s perspective — preserving the wisdom of its traditional spaces while bringing its history and culture to life.

Her experiences with the old house have also been recorded in writing and published as a book. Throughout the homestay, thoughtful and quiet details are arranged not simply as decoration, but as a way of creating a place where travelers can slow down, rest, and find a sense of peace.

We invite our guests to experience the timeless beauty of Kinmen’s traditional houses and to step beyond the courtyard to explore the historic village on foot.

In every guest room, there is a notebook filled with messages left by travelers. Over the years, these pages have gathered many small and touching stories. Their words continue to encourage us to preserve these old houses and to share the beauty, history, and culture of our hometown with more people.

The Meaning Behind “Shuidiao Getou”

“Shuidiao Getou” (水調歌頭) is the name of a classical Chinese poetic form made famous by the great Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo (Su Shi).

Many people know the beautiful lines from his celebrated poem:

“May we all be blessed with longevity;
though a thousand miles apart, we share the beauty of the same moon.”

The spirit of these words feels especially at home within an ancient house.

For travelers who have journeyed hundreds or even thousands of miles to reach Kinmen, we hope that beneath the same moon, Shuidiao Getou may become a place of warmth and connection — and that wherever your journey takes you, you may find happiness, fulfillment, and peace along the way.

A Traditional Minnan House

Shuidiao Getou is a traditional Minnan residence built in the distinctive double-courtyard, double-wing layout, a form of architecture deeply rooted in Kinmen’s history.

The front section contains two guest rooms named Mingyue (明月, “Bright Moon”) and Chanjuan (嬋娟, “Beautiful Moon”).

The rear section has two loft-style rooms named Zhuge (朱閣, “Vermilion Pavilion”) and Qionglou (瓊樓, “Jade Tower”).

The left wing contains two spacious rooms with their own small sitting areas, named Chengfeng (乘風, “Riding the Wind”) and Qiwu (起舞, “Dancing”).

All six rooms are private en-suite rooms with modern bathrooms featuring separate wet and dry areas.

Although the house is more than two hundred years old, the interior is bright, comfortable, and equipped with modern amenities.

Guests are welcome to use our small pantry, where you will find a coffee machine, drinking water, tea, Kinmen snacks, and a refrigerator with Kinmen Kaoliang liquor.

There is also a small reading room. Reading within the quiet walls of an ancient house, surrounded by the traces of generations past, can be one of the simplest and most memorable pleasures of staying here.

More Than Two Hundred Years — and the Story Continues

Built with Kinmen’s characteristic red brick and pale stone, the house has endured for more than two centuries. Its traditional construction naturally helps keep the interior warmer in winter and cooler in summer — a reflection of the practical wisdom of earlier generations.

More than two hundred years have passed, yet the story of this house continues.

We hope to remain its caretakers, preserving not only its walls and courtyards, but also the memories, culture, and way of life they represent.
